THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTI CE SANJAY KUMAR AND THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTI CE N.BALAYOGI CONTEMPT CASE No.718 of 2017 ORDER: (per SK,J) This contempt case was instituted alleging wilful and deliberate disobedience to the order passed by this Court on 24.01.2017 in W.P.M.P.No.52639 of 2016 in W.P.No.42698 of 2016. By the said order, this Court set aside the interim order dated 05.06.2015 passed by the Andhra Pradesh Administrative Tribunal, Hyderabad, in O.A.No.2720 of 2015 and permitted the authorities to make promotions to the posts of Principals of Government Junior Colleges strictly in accordance with law. Respondents 1 to 8 in the said writ petition filed this contempt case alleging that promotions were made to the posts of Principals of Government Junior Colleges in violation of law.

We are however of the opinion that this aspect of the matter would have to be examined thoroughly and cannot be subjected to verification in contempt proceedings.

The contempt case is accordingly dismissed leaving it open to the petitioners to avail appropriate remedies in accordance with law, if so advised. Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall also stand dismissed. No order as to costs.
