THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE CHALLA KODANDA RAM WRIT PETITION No.15933 of 2016 ORDER:
Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Standing Counsel for 2nd respondent-University. Petitioners claim that they are the students admitted into B.E. (Civil) Course, in Chaitanya Bharati Institute of Technology, Gandipet, Hyderabad, for the academic year 2005-2009 and 2003-2007 respectively. They submit that normal rule of University is that a student who has joined the course must complete the course before completion of double duration of the course time i.e. the course in B.E. (Civil) being five years, within a period of ten years the students are required to complete the course. Petitioners further submit that they have failed in few of the subjects.
It is the case of the petitioners that from time to time, the respondent-University is coming out with a scheme to enable such of the students, who could not complete the course within the prescribed duration, to complete their course by clearing the backlogs. Petitioners also made a representation dated 16.03.2016 to the Registrar of the 2nd respondent University and seek a direction of this Court to direct the respondents to consider their representation.
Without expressing any opinion on merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 16.03.2016 as per the Rules and Regulations of the University.
Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall
also stand closed.
