HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN Writ Petition No.5925 of 2009 ORDER:

The relief sought for in this Writ Petition is to declare the action of the State Government, and the Director of Medical Education, in not permitting students of the petitioner-college of nursing to undergo practical training in the Government General Hospital, as illegal and arbitrary.

By order in WPMP No.7739 of 2009 dated 30.03.2009, this Court granted an interim direction to the respondents to permit students of the petitioner-college of nursing to undergo practical training in the Government General Hospital. The said interim order has been in force for the past more than eight years. It does appear that students, of the petitioner-college, continue to undergo practical training in the Government General Hospital. If the respondents intend prohibiting students of the petitioner-college, from undergoing practical training in the Government General Hospital, it is open to do so after putting the petitioner-college on notice, giving them an opportunity of being heard, and thereafter pass a reasoned order in accordance with law.

The Writ Petition is, accordingly, disposed of.

The Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, shall also stand dismissed. No order as to costs.
