THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTI CE SANJAY KUMAR CONTEMPT CASE NO.2578 OF 2016 ORDER:

This contempt case was instituted alleging willful disobedience to the order dated 22.04.2016 passed in W.P.No.13682 of 2016. By the said order, the police authorities were directed to take appropriate action upon the petitioner's complaint dated 26.03.2013 in the light of the law laid down by the Supreme Court in LALI TA KUMARI V/ s. GOVERNMENT OF UTTAR PRADESH1.

The Inspector of Police, Langer House Police Station, Hyderabad City, filed a counter-affidavit in January, 2017 stating that on the complaint made by the petitioner, FIR No.31 of 2017 was registered on the file of the said police station under Sections 566 read with 34 IPC. The case was stated to be under investigation.

In the light of the aforestated counter-affidavit averments which remain unrebutted, it is clear that there is no inaction on the part of the police authorities as alleged.
