Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Pleader for Revenue appearing for the respondents. With their consent, the present writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage.

The present writ petition came to be filed with the following prayer:

"....to issue a writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature of WRIT OF MANDAMUS declaring the inaction on the part of the respondents on petitioners' representation dated 21.11.2016 submitted for assignment of government assessed waste land of Ac.1.35 gts each of the petitioner as assignment pattas in Survey No.290/1 situated in Peddagollagudem Revenue village of Dammapeta Mandal in Khammam District presently Badradri Kothagudem District in favour of the petitioners, as illegal, irregular, irrational, discriminatory, violative of provisions of LAONI Rules and offends Articles 14 and 21 of constitution of India and consequently direct the respondents to grant assignment pattas in favour of the petitioners for the said lands."

Though various grounds are raised in the writ petition, learned counsel for the petitioners restricts his prayer seeking a direction to the respondent authorities to consider the representation dated 21.11.2016 made by the petitioners for

CPK,J WP_243_2017 assignment of pattas/lands on the ground that they are landless poor people.

Learned Government Pleader for Revenue would submit that since the request of the petitioners is only for assignment of lands, their request can be considered, if they are otherwise entitled to. 6.

Having regard to the submissions made, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the 2nd respondent to deal with the representation dated 21.11.2016 made by the petitioners seeking assignment of the lands on the ground that they are landless poor persons, if they are otherwise eligible and entitled to and pass orders, in accordance with law, at the earliest. Consequently, Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs. _______________________ JUSTI CE C.
