THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE P.NAVEEN RAO CONTEMPT CASE No.1241 of 2016 ORDER :

This Court directed the District Collector, Rangareddy District to consider the application filed by the petitioners under Section 28-A of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (for brevity, 'the Act') on 04.09.2013 and to pass orders. Alleging inaction, the present Contempt Case is filed.

The counter-affidavit deposed by Ms.G.Sandhya Rani, Special Deputy Collector, Land Acquisition (Industries) would disclose that the application filed by the petitioners was considered, compensation was determined and compensation amount was already paid.

Learned counsel for the petitioners sought to contend that the amount determined is not valid and that the petitioners are entitled to higher amount. The quantum of the amount was not in issue and the only direction issued was to consider their application filed under Section 28-A of the Act and pass necessary orders. Since orders are already passed, it cannot be said that the respondents have violated the order of this Court necessitating institution of the present Contempt Case.

Accordingly, the Contempt Case is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Contempt Case shall stand closed.
