THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.34642 OF 2016 ORDER:

This writ petition, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is filed to issue a writ, order or direction more particularly, one in the nature of mandamus to declare the action of respondent No.2 in issuing the notification bearing Rc.No.28674/MN-1/2016, dated 3.9.2016, insofar as fixing the cut off date for submission of online applications for admission into GNM Course by 20.9.2016 as illegal and arbitrary and consequently, to direct respondent No.2 to continue the availability of online applications up to 31.10.2016 as prescribed in the notification in Rc.No.28674/MN-1/2016, dated 28.7.2016, and simultaneously, extend the time for submission of downloaded applications thereafter or to direct the respondents to permit the petitioners to admit the eligible candidates and approve the same after verifying their qualifications and eligibility and pass such other order or orders as this Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case.

Heard and perused the material available on record. 3.

The main grievance of the petitioners in this writ petition is that respondent No.2 is not disposing of their representation, dated 21.9.2016, and the same is pending for adjudication. 4.

Considering all the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is of the view that whenever a representation is received from an aggrieved person, it is the bounden duty of the officer

concerned to dispose of the same as expeditiously as possible. Hence, respondent No.2 is hereby directed to dispose of the representation, dated 21.9.2016, of the petitioners in a proper perspective within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
