THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN AND THE HON'BLE SMT. JUSTICE KONGARA VIJAYA LAKSHMI WRIT PETITION NO.31302 OF 2018 ORDER: (per Hon'ble Sri Justice Ramesh Ranganathan) The petitioner's grievance, in this Writ Petition, is that the Public Information Officer of the respondent bank had, by their proceedings dated 20.07.2018, failed to furnish all the information sought for by the petitioner under the provisions of the RTI Act. Sri D. Raghavulu, Learned Counsel for the petitioner, would draw our attention to the application made by the petitioner, under the Right to Information Act, on 04.12.2017 to submit that, while all the information sought for, except at serial No.29 has been furnished, this Court should direct the respondents to furnish this information also.

Any grievance which the petitioner may have, regarding the failure of the original authority to furnish the information sought for by him under the Right to Information Act, can be agitated in appeal before the Appellate Authority under the RTI Act. Leaving it open to the petitioner to avail the remedy of statutory appeal, we see no reason to interfere in the exercise of the discretionary jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India. Granting liberty to the petitioner to avail the remedy for an appeal, the Writ Petition fails and is, accordingly, dismissed. The miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed. No costs.
