THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE T.SUNIL CHOWDARY CRIMINAL PETITION No.6751 of 2017 ORDER:

This criminal petition is filed, by the petitioner-accused, under Sections 437 and 439 Cr.P.C., seeking bail in S.C.No.98 of 2017 on the file of I Additional District and Sessions Judge, Rajamahendravaram, arising out of Crime No.21 of 2017 on the file of the Station House Officer, Kotananduru Police Station, East Godavari District, registered for the offences punishable under Section 8(c) read with 20(b)(ii) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor representing the State. 3.

At the time of arguments, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the trial Court may be directed to dispose of the matter as expeditiously as possible as the petitioner is in judicial custody since 27.01.2017. 4.

In view of the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to go into the merits of the main case.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, the learned I Additional Sessions Judge, Rajamahendravaram, is hereby directed to dispose of S.C.No.98 of 2017 as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of four (4) months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

With the above direction, the Criminal Petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Criminal Petition shall stand closed.
