Heard learned counsel for petitioner and the learned Government Pleader for Home (AP) for respondents.
2. The petitioner states that he is nominated as Mandal Convener of Y.S.R. Congress Party for Ibrahimpatnam Mandal, Krishna District. In connection with his political and social activity, some cases were registered against him. When the respondents called him to the police station, he came to know about the opening of rowdy sheet. Challenging the opening of rowdy sheet, the present writ petition was filed.

Though no counter was filed by the respondents, the written instructions issued to learned Government Pleader reveal that the petitioner was involved in seven cases, out of which, he was facing trial in three cases, bound over in three cases and acquitted in one case. The instructions further reveal that in view of the involvement of the petitioner in those cases, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, West Zone accorded permission to open rowdy sheet on 24.08.2012. Hence, rowdy sheet was opened and it is being continued upto 31.12.2016.

In view of the involvement of the petitioner in the above criminal cases and facing trial in three cases, it cannot be said that opening of rowdy sheet is bad in law and if he has any ground after disposal of above cases, it is always open to the petitioner to submit a representation before the Assistant Commissioner of Police, West Zone, Vijayawada City for discontinuance of rowdy sheet. 5.
The Writ petition is accordingly, dismissed. No order as to costs. Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
