Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader of Home.

Since this Court is not adjudicating the matter on merits, it may not be necessary to issue notice to the unofficial respondents.

The present writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, with the following prayer: 'For the reasons stated in the accompanying affidavit, the petitioner herein prays that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ or order or direction declaring the inaction of the respondents in granting police protection to the petitioner and her family members by considering her representation dated 14.06.2016 to safeguard her life due to severe life threat from respondent Nos.4-6 and their unsocial elements as illegal, arbitrary and violative of Articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution of India and consequently direct eh respondents to give police protection to the petitioner and pass such other order or orders as this Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case'. Though various grounds are raised, learned counsel for the petitioner restricts his prayer seeking a direction to the respondent-police to pass appropriate orders in representation dated 14.06.2016, at the earliest.

Learned Government Pleader submits that she has no objection for considering the same, provided the same is still pending consideration.

Having regard to the above, the writ petition is disposed of directing the third respondent to dispose of the representation dated 14.06.2016, in accordance with law, as early as possible, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
