THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE A. SHANKAR NARAYANA CRIMINAL PETITION No.14020 OF 2016 ORDER:

The present petition is filed, under Section 482 Cr.P.C., to quash the proceedings in F.I.R.No.144 of 2016 of Police Station Sanathnagar, Cyberabad.

2. The petitioners are arraigned as accused Nos.2 to 5 in the said crime and alleged to have committed the offences punishable under Sections 498A I.P.C. and Sections 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961.

3. Heard.

4. It is submitted that respondent No.2 is the wife, whereas petitioner Nos.1 and 2 are the parents and petitioner Nos.3 and 4 are the sisters of accused No.1.

5. Perused the F.I.R. and the material on record. Mostly, the allegations are directed against accused No.1, who is the husband of respondent No.2 - complainant. However, in view of the other allegations, as regards demand of dowry, there is prima facie material to investigate the case against the petitioners also.

6. Hence, while ordering that the investigation shall go on, the Investigating Officer is directed not to arrest the petitioners till the completion of investigation, subject to the condition that the

petitioners shall appear before the Investigating officer as and when directed by him and that they shall co-operate for completion of the investigation.

7. Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Criminal Petition, shall stand closed.
