HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE V.RAMASUBRAMANIAN AND HON'BLE SMT JUSTICE ANIS W.P.No.32384 of 2016 ORDER: (per V. Ramasubramanian, J.) The petitioners, whose applications for admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses were not considered favourably, have come up with the present writ petition.

Heard Sri M.V.S. Prasad, learned counsel for the petitioners, Sri A. Abhishek Reddy, learned standing counsel for the 3rd respondent University, Sri Taddi Nageswara Rao, learned standing counsel for the 4th respondent University, and Sri A. Prabhakara Rao, learned standing counsel for the 5th respondent University. 3.

There is no denial of the fact that to be entitled for admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses, a person is expected to secure 80 marks out of 160 in EAMCET-III. Unfortunately, both the petitioners secured 79 out of 160. Therefore, the petitioners were not allowed for the counselling.

The contention of the petitioners is that they are entitled to 25% weightage in terms of G.O.Ms.No.165, Education (EC.2) Department, dated 06-09-2007 to the marks secured in the relevant group subjects in Intermediate examinations. Therefore, they have come up with the present writ petition.

But, we do not think that G.O.Ms.No.165, dated 60-09-2007 will be of any assistance to the petitioners. Once it is prescribed that a candidate should have secured at least 50% marks in EAMCET a

VRSJ & ANIS J W.P.No.32384 of 2016 person, who failed to secure the same, cannot seek any weightage. The writ petition is devoid of merits and hence, it is dismissed. As a sequel thereto, miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending shall stand closed.
