HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN WRIT PETITON No.14747 OF 2010 ORDER: (per Hon'ble the Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan) The relief sought for in this Writ Petition is to declare the action of the 2nd respondent in changing the existing house door No.3-207, with new house door No.3-182 of the petitioner, without any notice or a resolution being passed by the Gram panchayat, as illegal and arbitrary.

When the Writ Petition was admitted on 15.03.2011, no interim order was passed. The petitioner is residing in a house with the New door number for the past 61⁄2 years. In the counter-affidavit filed by the 2nd respondent, it is stated that a resolution was passed by the Gram panchayat on 02.04.2010 to change the door numbers. The petitioner's contention that no resolution was passed by the Grampanchayat is, evidently, erroneous. As the Grampanchayat has passed a resolution to change the door number, their action in doing so cannot be faulted. The Writ Petition fails and is, accordingly, dismissed. The miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed. No costs. _______________________________ RAMESH RANGANATHAN, ACJ Date: 24.11.2017 MRKR
