These batch of Writ Petitions are being disposed of by a common order as they arise out of same cause of action. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents. In all these cases, erection of electricity towers for laying High Tension lines, in the lands of the petitioners without following due process of law, is challenged.

Learned Standing Counsel for the respondents submits that the respondents have authority to erect electricity towers and lay High Tension lines as per the provisions of the Indian Electricity Act and, if any compensation is payable, the respondents would pay the same to the petitioners in accordance with law. In view of the statement made by the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents, the Writ Petitions are disposed of directing the respondents to determine and pay compensation to the petitioners, in accordance with law, within a period of ninety days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Needless to mention that, if the petitioners are aggrieved by the compensation granted by the respondents, the petitioners shall take necessary steps, in accordance with law, seeking enhancement of compensation.

As a sequel thereto, miscellaneous applications, if any, also stand disposed of. No order as to costs.
