Chairman, Sri Andal Edul Cultural Society And 2 Others v. National Council For Teacher Edun Southern Regl Comm
THE HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN Writ Petition No.20733 of 2011 ORDER:
The relief sought for in the Writ Petition is to declare the proceedings dated 25.5.2011 issued by the Regional Director, NCTE, rejecting the petitioners' application for permission to conduct M.Ed. course, as arbitrary and illegal. A consequential direction was sought to the respondent to consider grant of recognition to the 2nd petitionerinstitution for imparting training in M.Ed. course for the academic year 2011-12.
An interim order was passed, in WPMP No. 25188 of 2011 dated 9.8.2011, directing the respondent to consider the petitioners' explanation, pass orders in accordance with law, and communicate the same to the petitioner.
The consequential direction, which the petitioner sought in the main Writ Petition, was granted by way of the interim order. Learned counsel for the petitioners expresses ignorance as to what transpired thereafter.
As the admissions sought for relates to the academic year 2011-12, which expired nearly six years ago, the cause in the Writ Petition does not survive necessitating any further adjudication by this Court, and the Writ Petition has become infructuous. The Writ Petition is, accordingly, dismissed. Miscellaneous petitions, pending, if any, shall also stand dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
