Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the respondent - Singareni Collieries Company Limited.

Petitioner is working as E.P. Operator. Grievance of the petitioner is that though he was born on 05.04.1966, erroneously his date of birth was recorded as 06.11.1960. Therefore, he sought for correction of his date of birth.

According to learned counsel for the petitioner, a representation was made by the petitioner for correction of his date of birth. On the said representation, a recommendation/proposal was made on 07.08.2015 by the Deputy General Manager of the respondent - Company, whereas no further decision is taken. 4.

According to learned counsel, the said recommendation was forwarded to the General Manager, who, in turn, forwarded the same to the Director (Personnel), but no further decision is taken. 5.

It appears that the issue is not considered and no decision is made by General Manager (Personnel) of the respondent - Company.

Having regard to the same, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondents to examine the recommendation stated to have been made by the Deputy General Manager, the 5th respondent. Since the proposal was forwarded to the Director

(Personnel) and since the Director (Personnel) is competent to decide the issue, he shall take a decision. The decision shall be taken and appropriate orders shall be passed as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order. Pending Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
