Bhosale) This Writ Petition seeks the following prayer: "For the reasons stated in the accompanying affidavit, it is prayed that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to issue an order, direction or Writ more particularly one in the nature of Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ declaring the action of the Respondents in not considering for extending the term of the Petitioner as a Director under Section 11 of the State Financial Corporations Act and for consequential continuation as a Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Financial Corporation in terms of Section 15 of the Act as illegal, arbitrary and unjust and consequently direct the Respondents to extend the term of the Petitioner as a Director and Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Financial Corporation for a period of two years w.e.f. 17.4.

2016 and pass such other order or orders as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the interest of justice."

Mr. G.Vidya Sagar, learned Senior Counsel for petitioner submits that he is instructed to seek a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 10.03.2016 seeking his continuation as Chairman of Andhra Pradesh State Financial Corporation.

The petitioner was appointed as Chairman for a period of two years with effect from April 18, 2012. Vide order, dated 07.02.2014 issued by the Small Industries Development Bank of India, it was extended for a further period of two years. The extended period got over on 17.04.2016. In these circumstances, petitioner seeks the afore-mentioned relief in the Writ Petition.

Mr. Vidya Sagar, learned Senior Counsel for petitioner submits that though petitioner is not having any right as such under the provisions of Andhra Pradesh State Financial Corporation Act, 1951, his representation may be directed to be considered to extend his period by another two years so as to complete six years term as contemplated by Section 15 of the Act.

Learned Government Pleader submits that the Government do not want to extend petitioner's term and therefore question of seeking such direction does not arise. In the circumstances, we find no merit in the Writ Petition.

Writ Petition is dismissed.

Consequently, miscellaneous petitions, if any, also stand disposed of.
