Heard both sides. With the consent of both the parties, the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage. 2.

The present writ petition came to be filed seeking issuance of writ of Mandamus declaring the action of respondent No.4 and his staff in harassing the petitioners and their family members at the instigation of respondent No.5, as illegal and arbitrary.

The grievance of the petitioners is that at the instance of respondent No.5, the police are harassing the petitioners and their family members by insisting them to settle the civil disputes pending between the petitioners and respondent No.5. Learned Government Pleader disputes the same. According to him, a crime is registered against the petitioners and hence the petitioners were called to the police station. 4.

Having regard to the rival submissions made and without going into merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent police not to illegally summon the petitioners to police station and that they are at liberty to take steps in accordance with the provisions established by law. No costs.

As a sequel thereto, Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition, shall stand closed.
