The Writ Petition is filed praying to grant the following relief: "... to issue a writ, order or direction, more in the nature of writ of mandamus under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, declaring the action of the respondents, not considering the case of the petitioner to continue in service as Assistant Professor, Integrated Food Technology, Department of Home Science for the academic year 2018-19, in pursuance of Notification 05.05.

2018 issued by the 1st respondent and further taking steps to fill up the post of Associate Integrated food Technology, Department of Home Science for the academic year 2018-19 again on contract basis as arbitrary, illegal, discriminatory and unconstitutional violating Articles 14, 16 and 21 of the Constitution of India, and issue consequential directions, directing the respondents to forthwith continue the petitioner as Integrated food Technology, Department of Home Science for the academic year 2018-19 in the existing vacancies for the academic year 2018-19, in terms of similar directions rendered in dated 28.02.2018 in I.A.No.1 of 2018 in W.P.No.5979 of 2018 and orders in I.A.No.1 of 2018 in W.P.No.11662 of 2018 dated 09.04.2018 and pass such other order or orders as it deems fit and proper in the circumstances of the case."

Petitioner was earlier appointed as Associate Professor in Integrated Food Technology, Department of Home Science on contract basis. Grievance of the petitioner is, her contract is not renewed for the academic year 2018-19.

When the matter is taken up for consideration, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that liberty may be granted to the petitioner to make a representation to the Registrar of the 1st respondent - University and the 1st respondent - University may

be directed to consider the said representation and to pass orders thereon.

In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the Writ Petition is disposed of granting liberty to the petitioner to make a representation to the Registrar of the 1st respondent - University.

If the petitioner makes such representation, the same shall be considered by the Registrar of the 1st respondent - University and appropriate decision shall be taken and communicated to the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the representation. Pending miscellaneous petitions shall stand closed.
