THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE P.NAVEEN RAO WRIT PETITION No.16864 of 2015 ORDER :

The petitioner is holding the office of Upa-Sarpanch of Manthini Gram Panchayat of Karimnagar District. The petitioner alleges that the Sarpanch of the Gram panchayat was misusing the funds granted in pursuant to 13th Financial Commission and also started illegal construction by reducing the width of the road which was originally earmarked from 100 feet, which was reduced to 64 feet, which in the longer course is not conducive to the better management of the traffic. All such decisions by the Sarpanch were taken unilaterally. All her actions amounts to violation of statutory mandate and various orders on the subject. Having noticed such grave illegalities, the petitioner complained to the District Collector,

Karimnagar on 16.03.2015. He has also submitted another complaint on 23.03.2015. The Revenue Divisional Officer has directed the Divisional Panchayat Officer, Peddapalli, to conduct local enquiry and submit a report. It appears that till now, no such report is filed and no action is taken on the complaints given by the petitioner.

With the consent of learned counsels appearing for the parties, this Writ Petition is disposed of at the admission stage, without expressing any opinion on merits, directing the District Collector, Karimnagar (2nd respondent) to examine the complaint of the petitioner dated 16.03.2015 and 23.03.2015 and take appropriate action as warranted by law within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
