THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE S.V. BHATT Writ Petition No.34847 of 2015 PC:(Per the Hon'ble the Acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale) Heard Mr. A.Jagan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. H. Venugopal, learned Government Pleader for Home for the respondents. The petitioner, in the instant writ petition, seeks the following prayer: "For the reasons stated in the accompanying affidavit, the petitioner herein prays that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to issue an appropriate writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature of Writ of Mandamus declaring the action of the respondents in following the repealing Act of 2010 is illegal, arbitrary, without jurisdiction and contrary to the Act 19/2015 dated 14.5.2015 as well as provisions of Criminal Procedure Code and consequently, direct the respondents to follow the procedure as per the amendment Act, 19/2015, dated 14.5.2015 and pass such other order or orders as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case."

From reading of the prayer itself, we are satisfied that a general prayer, without specifying further details, cannot be considered in writ jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution. In effect, the petitioner, who claims to be an Advocate, seeks direction to the respondents to follow the law. Every person/authority is governed by a Rule of law. The writ petition seems to have been filed for academic purpose. Hence, the writ petition is dismissed. Consequently, pending miscellaneous applications shall also stand closed. ____________________
