THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE CHALLA KODANDA RAM CONTEMPT CASE No.1215 of 2016 ORDER:

This contempt case is filed alleging disobedience on the part of the respondents in implementing the order of this court dated 19.02.2016 passed in W.P.No.5174 of 2016.

The said writ petition viz., W.P.No.5174 of 2016 is filed complaining inaction on the part of the respondents in considering the representations dated 09.02.2015, 01.06.2015 and 17.07.2015 stated to have been submitted by the petitioners seeking to provide drinking water tap connections to their houses situated in Ammanabrolu Gram Panchayat, Nagulappalapadu Mandal, Prakasam District. This court by order dated 19.02.2016 disposed of the said writ petition directing the third respondent to consider and dispose of the representations of the petitioners for providing drinking water tap connections to their houses subject to feasibility. Alleging inaction on the part of the respondents, the present writ petition is filed. 3.

Counter affidavit has been filed by the respondents stating that the gram panchayat passed resolution dated 07.09.2016 resolving to consider the pending applications for sanction of water tap connections in the order of seniority and in fact a new water tank is being constructed and laying of water pipeline works are in progress.

In the light of the counter affidavit averments, apparently there is a substantial compliance of the orders of this court. 5.

Accordingly, the contempt case is closed. However, if the development work is not completed within a reasonable time, petitioners shall be at liberty to approach this court afresh ventilating their grievance in a separate proceeding. As a sequel, the miscellaneous applications pending if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
