HON'BLE SRI JUSTI CE A. RAMALI NGESWARA RAO Writ Petition No. 26594 of 2017 Order:

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the respondents 2 and 3.

The petitioner states that she passed Intermediate examination during March 2017 and appeared for EAMCET 2017 entrance examination conducted by the second respondent and secured the rank of 29,692. During her academic studies, she participated in Sailing Competitions conducted by Telangana Sailing Association. She also participated in National Inter State-Inter Zonal Sailing Championship and other events. She applied for B.Sc (Ag), B.VSC, BHMS, BUMS Courses under sports quota for the academic year 2017-18, as per the regulations for admission into Engineering Courses for the academic year 2017-18. The admissions are being made by Kaloji Narayana Rao University and Prof. Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University for the academic year 2017-18.

The petitioner came to know that the respondents 1 and 2 forwarded her sports certificates to the third respondent for gradation and ranking. Since the third respondent could not decide, it was sent to the seventh respondent which is only Yachting Association of India and the petitioner states that Sailing is different from Yachting. After adjourning the matter twice, learned Standing Counsel for the third respondent submits that the certificates obtained by the petitioner would be sent to the National Sailing Association of India for verification with regard to grading and certification. Since the certificates are going to be sent to the proper association namely National Sailing Association of India, there cannot be any grievance for the petitioner.

The Writ Petition is, accordingly, disposed of giving liberty to the third respondent to send the certificates obtained by the petitioner to the proper National Association and obtain its opinion with regard to certificates and take further action in accordance with law. It is needless to observe that the entire process with regard to filling up of sports quota shall be completed within the prescribed time and any admission shall be without prejudice to the rights of the petitioner. There shall be no order as to costs.

As a sequel thereto, the miscellaneous petitions pending in this Writ Petition, if any, shall stand closed.
