Abdul Raffiq v. Union Of India
THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE V. RAMASUBRAMANIAN AND THE HON'BLE SMT. JUSTICE T. RAJANI WRIT PETITION No.28817 of 2017 ORDER: (Per VRS,J) The 1st petitioner is the son and the 2nd petitioner is the father. They are aggrieved by the non-allotment of a seat in MBBS/BDS courses under BC-E category for the current academic year. 2.
Heard Mr. V. Sai Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner. 3.
Admittedly, the 1st petitioner has secured in NEET-2017, an all India rank of 145132. As per the instructions received from the 3rd respondent-University, the 1st petitioner was treated as a candidate belonging to BC-E category. The last candidate under BC-E (Male) category to be allotted a seat, was of the rank of 120362. Therefore, the grievance of the petitioners that the 1st petitioner was not treated as a BC-E category candidate is factually incorrect. The 1st petitioner has not come up within the zone of consideration. Therefore, the Writ Petition is dismissed.
Consequently, miscellaneous petitions if any pending in the writ petition shall stand dismissed. No order as to costs. __________________________ V. RAMASUBRAMANIAN, J ____________ T. RAJANI, J.
