Rayarao Anantha Raju v. The State Of Telangana
THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTI CE SANJAY KUMAR WRI T PETI TI ON NO.34324 OF 2018
O R D E R
The grievance of the petitioners is that the revenue authorities are not taking steps to issue them occupancy rights certificates in relation to the land admeasuring Ac.134.17 guntas in various subdivisions of Survey No.222 of Pillutla Village, Shivampet Mandal, Medak District, under the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh (Telangana Area) Inams (Abolition and Conversion into Ryotiwari) Act, 1956. Perusal of the record reflects that acting upon the applications of the petitioners, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Narsapur, addressed letters dated 05.07.2018 to the Tahsildar, Shivampet Mandal, calling for a factual report along with the documents enumerated therein. The complaint of the petitioners is that no steps have been taken thereafter. It is not open to the revenue authorities to sleep over the applications made by the citizens under the provisions of the statute. All the more so, when their valuable property rights are at stake.
As the record itself demonstrates that the Revenue Divisional Officer, Narsapur, initiated action upon the petitioners' applications as long back as in July, 2018, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to take appropriate action on the said applications in terms of the letters dated 05.07.2018 of the Revenue Divisional Officer, Narsapur, and complete the entire exercise, one way or the other, expeditiously and in any event, not later than eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Pending miscellaneous petitions shall stand closed in the light of this final order. No order as to costs.
