Petitioner is working as Associate Professor and claiming promotion as Professor. According to the petitioner he is also presently holding charge as Head of the Department of Kulliyat of Post Graduation, Government Nizamia Tibbi College, Charminar, Hyderabad. Petitioner claims that he has been working as Professor and undertaking teaching job in Kulliyat, since the year 2002 and he is the only candidate eligible and working in Post Graduate Department, to fill up the post of Professor. Whereas, the said post is kept vacant for a long time. By placing reliance on Note-2 appended to Rule 19 of the relevant Rules, petitioner seeks consideration of his case for grant of promotion. Claiming such promotion, he submitted representation addressed to the Commissioner, Department of Ayush, on 20.02.2017 and another representation addressed to the Government on 28.02.2017. Alleging inaction on the said representations, this writ petition is filed.

Learned counsel for the petitioner seeks disposal of the writ petition with a direction to the Government to pass orders on the representation submitted by the petitioner on 28.02.2017 within fixed time frame.

Having regard to the said submission, without expressing any opinion on merits, the writ petition is disposed of, directing the 1st respondent to consider the claim of the petitioner as ventilated
- 3 - in his representation dated 28.02.2017 and pass appropriate orders and communicate the same to the petitioner, as warranted by law, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs. 7.
Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
