HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE A.RAJASHEKER REDDY W.P. No. 3225 OF 2002 ORDER :

This writ petition is filed seeking writ of mandamus declaring the action of the respondents in not sending the petitioners for FIP Course even though they have been selected on 08.10.1998 by Selection Committee under U.G.C Faculty Development Programme in the IX Plan as illegal and arbitrary and consequently to direct the first respondent to finalize the FIP programme to the petitioners. When the matter is taken up for hearing, learned counsel for the petitioners state that all the petitioners have retired from service and the prayer in the writ petition is for declaring the action of the respondents in not sending the petitioners for FIP Course even though they have been selected by Selection Committee under U.G.C Faculty Development Programme in IX Plan on 08.10.1998 for Teaching Fellowship. It is also stated by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the 4th respondent has passed away.

In view of the prayer in the writ petition and also in view of the fact that the 4th respondent passed away, the question of granting relief after retirement of the petitioners does not arise at this stage; that the cause in the writ petition does not survive for adjudication and that no relief can be granted to the petitioners.

Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. As a sequel thereto, miscellaneous petitions, if any pending in this writ petition, shall stand dismissed. _________________________ A.RAJASHEKER REDDY, J 02.07.2015.
