Petitioner claims as wife of late Boddapati Anji Reddy, who was serving Indian Army and died on 14.01.2012. After the death of her husband, petitioner applied for assignment of land assignable to Ex-Service man. It appears several representations were made by the petitioner and the District Sainik Welfare Officer, has also forwarded the representation to the District Collector and in turn the District Collector directed the Tahsildar to examine the claim and take suitable decision. Alleging inaction in considering the request of the petitioner, this writ petition is filed. 3.

The documents enclosed to the writ petition would disclose filing of representation for assignment and such request is pending consideration. One such representation dated 18.06.2012 is enclosed as Ex.P.1.

Having regard to the same, without expressing any opinion on merits, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the Tahsildar Gurazala Mandal, Guntur District (4th respondent) to examine the claim of the petitioner for assignment of land as assignable to an ex-serviceman and pass appropriate orders as warranted by law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of eight (8) weeks, from the date of receipt of copy of this order. In the event of Tahsildar not accepting the request of the petitioner, he shall assign reasons in support of such decision and communicate the same to the petitioner. There shall be no order as to costs.

- 3 - Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
