Heard.

On the grievance of the petitioner that the water is not being released for her second crop from Mamidla Cheruvu Tank of Gundlaphad Village, Nallabeli Mandal, Warangal District, the learned Government Pleader for Irrigation was required to get instructions.

Learned Government Pleader has received instructions from the 3rd respondent and states that the said Tank is the Irrigation source to irrigate an Ayacut of 280 acres and total depth of water stored is 7 feet above sill level and present water level is 2 feet. As per M.I. norms Thaibandi for second crop the water is being released for the tanks, which irrigate more than 500 acres. As the present tank falls below 500 acres category and as the available water in the source is very meagre, the 3rd respondent has not recommended for release of water to the second crop of the petitioner.

It is evident from the above that there is no sufficient water to consider the petitioner's request for the present year. Hence, the relief sought for by the petitioner cannot be considered. However, as and when the situation improves in future, the petitioner is at liberty to make appropriate request. The Writ Petition is, accordingly, disposed of. No costs. Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending shall stand closed.
