THE HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN AND THE HON'BLE DR JUSTICE SHAMEEM AKTHER Writ Appeal No.298 of 2017 JUDGMENT: {Per the Hon'ble the Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan} While the order under appeal granted liberty to the appellant-writ petitioner to submit a representation for providing security, and directed the respondents to receive the representation and place it before the Security Review Committee for passing appropriate orders thereupon, the learned Special Government Pleader, appearing on behalf of the learned Advocate General, would place before us a copy of the memorandum dated 15.03.2017 to the effect that the appellant-writ petitioner is not facing any specific threat from any individual or group necessitating provision of security to him.

As the appellant-writ petitioner's representation has been considered and rejected, the cause in this appeal does not survive necessitating any further adjudication by this Court. Suffice it to make it clear that this order shall not preclude the appellant-writ petitioner from questioning the validity of the memorandum dated 15.03.2017 in appropriate legal proceedings.

The Writ Appeal is disposed of accordingly. Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, shall also stand disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
