ORAL ORDER:
Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned standing counsel for respondents and with their consent, the writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage.

Petitioner is Head Constable in Central Reserve Police Force and presently working in Sukuma district No.2 Battalion in Chattisgarh state. While he was working in Bhadrachalam Battalion No.141, he submitted application dated 9.9.2017 to permit him to take voluntary retirement and the same was forwarded by the Officer Commanding vide letter dated 18th September, 2017 to the Commandant. Alleging that no decision is taken on the said application, this writ petition is filed. 3.
Since petitioner claims that the application for Voluntary Retirement is yet to be acted upon and no decision is communicated to him, without expressing any opinion on merits of the matter, writ petition is disposed of directing the Commandant 141 Battalion/third respondent to take appropriate decision on the application submitted by the petitioner to retire him on voluntary grounds as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
