The petitioner states that he is a resident of Patur Village, Nandalur Mandal in YSR Kadapa District and he is a civil contractor. He is also doing the business in Mango fruits apart from doing social work. He was the Sarpanch of Patur Gram Panchayat during the years 1983-1990. He also worked as the Vice Chairman, Market Committee, Rajampet, during the years 2012-2014. He applied for Arms Licence in the year 1979 and the same was granted. He purchased the DBBL Barrel No.1580 on 27.09.1979. The renewed licence was valid up to 31.12.2012. Before expiry of the said licence, the petitioner submitted an application to the second respondent for renewal. It was followed by a representation dated 02.04.2015. When he was informed to apply afresh since the earlier time elapsed, he applied afresh on 20.07.

2015 for renewal of the arms licence for the period from 31.12.2015 to 31.12.2018. On receipt of the said application, the second respondent called for a report from the third respondent for renewal and the third respondent, in turn, called for a report from the sixth respondent. The second respondent also appears to have called for a report from the fourth respondent who in turn called for a report from the fifth respondent. Though the report was submitted by the sixth respondent on 30.11.2015 to the fourth respondent and by the fifth respondent on 02.01.

were forwarded by the fourth respondent on 16.04.2016 to the second respondent, no action was taken by the second respondent. In those circumstances, the petitioner filed the present Writ Petition.

Even after issuing notice before admission on 18.01.2017, no counter affidavit is filed. However, the learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submits that the reports were sent to the second respondent and the matter is pending before the second respondent.

In view of the pendency of the matter before the second respondent, consequent to the submission of reports by the concerned authorities, it is for the second respondent to take appropriate action in accordance with law.

In the circumstances, the second respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders on the application of the petitioner for renewal of his arms licence for the period from 31.12.2015 to 31.12.2018, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

The Writ Petition is, accordingly, disposed of. The miscellaneous petitions pending in this Writ Petition, if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs. ________________________________ (A.RAMALINGESWARA RAO, J) 01.02.2017 vs
