This writ petition was filed by three individuals working in the Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL), seeking a direction to it to absorb them as regular Lower Division Clerks.

Interim orders were granted by this Court on 07.02.2012, directing the APSPDCL to implement the order passed in W.P.Nos.8788 and 19644 of 2001 dated 23.12.2011. It appears that pursuant to the afore-stated order, the APSPDCL considered the request of the petitioners and others similarly situated for absorption of their services and rejected their plea under order dated 03.08.2013. This order is not subjected to challenge in the present writ petition. In the light of the subsequent developments as set out supra, this writ petition no longer survives for consideration and is accordingly closed leaving it open to the petitioners to take steps as against the order dated 03.08.2013 in accordance with law. It is stated by Sri S. Ravindranath, learned counsel for the petitioners, that Contempt Case No.874 of 2012 was instituted in

connection with alleged disobedience to the interim order dated 07.02.2012 passed in this writ petition and that the same is still pending consideration. It is accordingly made clear that closure of this writ petition would have no impact on the pending contempt case which shall be considered on its own merits.

Pending Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, shall also stand closed. No order as to costs.
