This Criminal Petition, under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, is filed by the petitioner/ A.2 for grant of anticipatory bail in Crime No.176 of 2018 of Srikalahasthi I Town Police Station, Tirupati Urban District, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 307, 498A of I.P.C. and Sections 3 & 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961. 2 .

Having argued the matter at length, the learned counsel for the petitioner/ A.2 seeks permission of this Court to withdraw this Criminal Petition.

As per the record placed before this Court, the bail application of this petitioner/ A.2 was dismissed by the Court of Session, vide order, dated 14.09.2018, passed in Crl.M.P.No.1919 of 2018. There is specific allegation against the petitioner/ A.2 that she poured kerosene on the de-facto complainant and tried to set her ablaze in the night of 17.06.2018. A complaint was also made by the de-facto complainant to the Superintendent of Police concerned on 02.07.2018. Though there was a mediation effort, the same was not materialised. Since the matter is heard at length, it is not appropriate to grant permission for withdrawal of this application. The allegations are grave and specific against the petitioner/ A.2. She is not entitled for bail under Section 438 of

Cr.P.C. The Criminal Petition is devoid of merit and is liable to be dismissed.
