THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE P. NAVEEN RAO CONTEMPT CASE No.1534 OF 2017 ORDER:

By order dated 20.01.2017 in W.P.No.777 of 2017, this Court directed the Project Director, District Water Management Agency, YSR Kadapa District, to pay arrears and allowances to the petitioner w.e.f. 28.09.2016.

Learned Special Counsel representing the respondents brought to the notice of the Court the order dated 24.08.2017 whereunder the arrears of amounts worked out at Rs.13,463/- are paid to the petitioner. However, it is seen that the direction issued by this Court was to pay arrears within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order i.e., from 20.01.2017, whereas the arrears were released only on 24.08.2017 and there was a delay.

In paragraph No.5 of the counter affidavit filed by the 1st respondent, it is stated that in seeking appropriate directions from the higher authorities and in the process of taking decisions, delay has occurred and the 1st respondent has expressed unconditional apology for not taking the decisions and paying the amounts within the time. The apology is accepted. 4.

The Contempt Case is closed.
