ORDER
This writ petition is filed seeking to declare the action of the respondent in not considering the representation dated 4.6.2015 submitted by the petitioner, as arbitrary and illegal.
The petitioner is working as Lecturer in Telugu, Methodist Degree College, Hyderabad since 1998. He possessed Ph.D in Telugu. Pursuant to the notification issued by the respondentUniversity, the petitioner applied for the post of Assistant Professor, Department of Language Translations. His certificates were scrutinized and he was called for the interview, for which he attended. Thereafter, the petitioner came to know that one Dr.Chennaiah was selected and joined as Assistant Professor in the Department of Language Translations. Alleging certain irregularities in the selection process, the petitioner filed W.P.No.20576 of 2011 and the same is pending. During pendency of the said writ petition, the said Chennaiah made a representation to the respondent-University to repatriate him to his parental department, which was considered and he was repatriated to his
parental department. Consequently, the post of Assistant Professor, Department of Language Translation in respondent-University fell vacant. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is the meritorious candidate and possesses requisite qualifications to the post of Assistant Professor, Department of Language Translations and in that connection, he made a representation dated 4.6.2014 to the respondent-University. But, so far, no action has been taken.
Considering the said submissions, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondentUniversity to consider the representation dated 4.6.2014 submitted by the petitioner and pass appropriate order thereon, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
