ORDER

This petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is filed by the petitioners/A1 to A4 seeking to quash the proceedings in Cr.No.136 of 2016 of Osmania University Police Station, Hyderabad, for the offences punishable under Section 498-A IPC and u/s.3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act, against them.

2. A1 is the husband of the de facto complainant. It is alleged in the complaint that A1 with the support of his family members i.e., petitioners/A2 to A4 used to harass the de facto complainant physically and mentally by demanding additional dowry of Rs.10 lakhs and gold as she gave birth of two female children and threaten her with dire consequences.

3. In view of the allegations made in the complaint and also the nature of proceedings, this Court is not inclined to interfere with the impugned proceedings. However, the concerned police are directed to complete the investigation without making arrest of petitioners/A1 to A4 and file a final report, if any.

4. With the above direction, the Criminal Petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this criminal petition shall stand closed.
