HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE A. SHANKAR NARAYANA CRIMINAL PETITION No.2019 of 2017 ORDER:

The present petition is filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (for short, 'the Cr.P.C.') requesting to quash the proceedings in C.C.No.991 of 2016 on the file of the I-Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Nampally, Hyderabad. 2.

The petitioner is the sole accused in the aforesaid calendar case and she alleged to have committed the offences punishable under Sections 418, 419, 420, 468 and 471 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. 3.

Sri V.Eswaraiah Chowdary, learned counsel for the petitioner, without referring to the merits of the case, would only make a request, that being, to direct the I-Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Nampally, Hyderabad, to dispose of C.C.No.991 of 2016 by fixing a timeline as the crime was registered in the year 2009, but the charge sheet was filed in 2016 and that the petitioner is an employee. 4.

It is true the crime was registered in the year 2009 and charge sheet was filed in 2016. There is every reason to give a direction as sought for by the learned counsel for the petitioner. Therefore, the learned I-Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate is directed to dispose of C.C.No.991 of 2016 within one year from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.

With the above direction, the criminal petition is dismissed at the admission stage itself.

As a sequel thereto, Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in the Criminal Petition stand closed.
