O R D E R

This contempt case was instituted alleging willful disobedience to the order dated 30.12.2010 passed by this Court in W.P.M.P. No.42357 of 2010 in W.P. No.33386 of 2010. By the said order, this Court directed the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) to consider the candidature of the petitioners basing on their trade test performance in the year 1992 without insisting upon acquiring a pass in the said test again. However, it has now emerged that a pass in the trade test would endure only for a period of ten years for the purpose of reckoning candidature. This aspect was not within the knowledge of this Court at the time of passing of the order.

However, Sri K. Srinivasa Rao, learned standing counsel appearing for the APSRTC, fairly concedes that as a special case, the APSRTC is willing to hold the trade test afresh for these two petitioners and basing on their performance therein, necessary steps will be taken as to their candidature for promotion. Sri Chandraiah Sunkara, learned counsel for the petitioners, agrees to this course of action. The contempt case is accordingly closed taking note of the offer made by the learned standing counsel for the APSRTC. No order as to costs.
