HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE ABHINAND KUMAR SHAVILI WRIT PETITION No. 7828 of 2011 ORDER:

This writ petition is filed seeking to issue a writ of mandamus declaring the action of the respondents in conducting the departmental promotion test for the posts of Junior Officers scheduled to be held on 27.03.2011, as illegal and arbitrary. A consequential direction is also sought to the respondents to permit the petitioners to appear for the departmental promotion test for the post of Junior Officers scheduled to be held on 27.03.2011.

When the matter is taken up for hearing, it is brought to the notice of the Court that pursuant to the interim orders granted by this Court on 25.03.2011, the petitioners were permitted to appear for the departmental promotion test and their results were kept in a sealed cover. In view of the same, the respondents are directed to open the sealed cover, and if the petitioners are found eligible, their cases shall be considered for next promotional posts, in accordance with the Rules.

The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of. Consequently, miscellaneous applications, if any, pending in the writ petition shall stand closed.
