THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE A.RAJASHEKER REDDY WRIT PETITION No.18946 OF 2011 ORDER:

This writ petition is filed seeking to issue a writ of Mandamus to declare the action of the respondents in stopping drinking water supply to the petitioners' residential houses bearing Nos.10/1 to 10/16 situated at Sri Krishnadevaraya Nagar, Gummuluru Road, Akiveedu, West Godavari District, by order, dated 01.07.2011, as illegal and arbitrary, and consequently, to set aside the same and direct the respondents to forthwith restore drinking water connection to the residential houses of the petitioners.

2. When the matter came up for admission on 07.07.2011, this Court granted interim direction to the respondents to forthwith restore drinking water supply connection to the houses of the petitioners by suspending the impugned order.

3. Heard Sri Ch.Dhanamjaya, learned counsel for the petitioners, learned Government Pleader for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development (A.P.) appearing for respondent No.1 and Sri Ravi Cheemalapati, learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondent No.2.

4. Learned counsel appearing on either side stated that in view of the aforesaid interim order, drinking water supply connection to the houses of the petitioners was restored and hence, no further orders are required to be passed in this writ petition.

5. Recording the said submission, the Writ Petition is disposed of. However, this order will not preclude the respondents from taking appropriate action against the petitioners for recovery of water charges, if any, in accordance with law.
