THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE P. NAVEEN RAO Writ Appeal No.103 of 2016 PC:(Per the Hon'ble the Acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale) Mr. G.Ramachandra Rao, learned counsel holding for Mr. G. Pedda Babu, Advocate on record for the appellants does not press this appeal on merits and seeks liberty to the appellants to make a representation to the concerned authority to consider payment of additional compensation in the light of the new Act and also in the light of the observations made by the Supreme Court in Competent Authority vs. Barangore Jute Factory and others. The writ appeal is disposed of as not pressed.
It is open to the appellants to make representation, as aforementioned, seeking payment of compensation/additional compensation, if any, in accordance with the new Act, and in the light of the observations made by the Supreme Court in the aforementioned judgment. If any such representation is made, we hope and trust that the concerned authority shall consider the same on merits, in accordance with law. While making these observations, we shall not be understood to have expressed any opinion on merits of the contentions urged by the appellants in that behalf.
Consequently, pending miscellaneous applications shall also stand closed.
