Heard Sri P. Govinda Rajulu, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Sri N. Vasudeva Reddy, learned standing counsel for respondents.
2. According to the petitioner, pursuant to the notification issued by the 1st respondent in the year 2011-12 calling applications for the post of drivers on contract basis in 3rd respondent Region, the petitioner applied for the post of driver and he was selected by the selection committee and after completion of driving test and medical examination, the 3rd respondent directed the petitioner to deposit Rs.1000/- and accordingly, he complied with the same on 27.06.2012. Subsequently, the 3rd respondent directed the petitioner to appear before the Principal Zonal Staff Training College, Hakimpet for practical training from 27.08.2012 to 26.10.2012 along with other drivers, who also selected along with the petitioner.
After completing the practical training, the petitioner was directed to report before the 3rd respondent along with others. Accordingly, he reported to the 3rd respondent, but no appointment order so far has been issued to him in spite of completing all formalities after selection. The petitioner came to know that some of the candidates, who completed the training along with him, are appointed in the 3rd respondent-Region and they have been working as contract drivers. The petitioner submitted a representation dated 05.03.2014 to the 3rd respondent with a request to appoint him as a driver, but so far no appointment is issued to him. Therefore, he filed the present writ petition seeking a direction to the respondents to appoint him as a driver on contract basis.
3. Considering the submissions made on either side, the writ petition is disposed of directing the 3rd respondent to consider the
representation dated 05.03.2014 submitted by the petitioner where under he sought appointment as contract driver pursuant to his selection and pass appropriate orders thereon within eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, in this writ petition shall stand closed.
