THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.23485 OF 2015 ORDER:

This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking to declare the action of the respondents in not releasing the cash award of Rs.5 lakhs to the petitioner pursuant to G.O.Ms.No.6391 GA (I&PR) Department, dated 8.9.2005, for the category of low budget good film for the year 1998-99 to the film "Nee Kosam" produced by the petitioner as illegal and arbitrary and consequently, direct the respondents to release the said amount forthwith.

When the matter is called, it is informed by the learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents that respondent No.2 is ready to release the funds in favour of the petitioner on the basis of seniority and as and when the Government releases the budget and only due to lack of funds, it could not follow the aforementioned Government Order. 3.

Recording the aforesaid submissions of the learned Government Pleader, this Writ Petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
