The grievance of the petitioner in this case was as to the opening and continuance of a rowdy sheet in his name on the file of Nunna Police Station, Krishna District.

Relying on the written instructions dated 26.07.2015 received from the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Central Zone, Vijayawada City, the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home informed this Court that the petitioner was hitherto involved in seven criminal cases. However, he was acquitted in one and action was dropped in all the others. Owing to his involvement in the afore-stated cases, rowdy sheet was opened in his name pursuant to the permission accorded by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Central Zone, Vijayawada, under proceedings dated 13.04.2012. The rowdy sheet is stated to have been extended up to 31.12.2015.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police further stated that it would be open to the petitioner to make an application before the competent authority to close the rowdy sheet and basing on the same, the situation would be reviewed and the petitioner's request would be considered as per law. In the light of the afore-stated facts, it is clear that the police authorities would have to consider as to whether the continuance of the rowdy sheet in the name of the petitioner on the file of Nunna Police Station is still warranted owing to the closure of all the criminal cases registered against him.

representation to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Central Zone, Vijayawada City, supported with necessary documentation, if any, and seek closure of the rowdy sheet opened in his name on the file of Nunna Police Station. In the event such a representation is made, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Central Zone, Vijayawada City, shall consider the same in accordance with law and take appropriate action thereafter.

Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed in the light of this final order. No order as to costs.
