The de-facto complainant and her counsel Sri G.sundareshan are present. Accused and his counsel Sri P.Venugopal Rao are present. Heard both sides.

The S.R.Puram Police filed charge sheet in FIR 75 of 2014 against the accused for the offences under Sections 498A IPC, Section 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act and Section 3(1)(x) of SC & ST (POA) Act, 1989 and consequently PRC No.16/2014 was registered on the file of Judicial First Class Magistrate, Puttur. Now, the submission of both sides is that at the intervention of elders both the parties have entered into a compromise by amicably settling the disputes and they are living together and compromise may be recorded and proceedings in PRC.No.16 of 2014 on the file of Judicial first Class Magistrate, Puttur may be quashed in the interest of justice.

Having regard to the above said submission and considering the fact that it is a matrimonial matter and parties have amicably settled the issue, no useful purpose will be served even if the parties are driven to trial since they compromised, and following the decision reported in Gian Singh v. State of Punjab and another proceedings in PRC.No.16 of 2014 (FIR No.75/2014 of SR Puram PS) on the file of Judicial first Class Magistrate, Puttur are hereby quashed. In the result, both the petitions are accordingly disposed of. As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed. _________________________ U.
