HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE P. NAVEEN RAO CONTEMPT CASE No. 497 OF 2015 ORAL ORDER:

This Contempt case is filed alleging willful violation of orders of this Court dated 5.12.2014 in W P No. 32538 of 2014.

2. Learned Government Pleader as well as learned counsel for petitioners state that in terms of the orders of this Court dated 5.12.2014, enhanced amount of compensation payable to the petitioners is already paid, however, learned counsel for petitioner submits that on account of the delay in determination of the compensation and making payment, petitioners are entitled for interest but the same is not paid.

3. Heard the learned counsel for petitioners and learned Government Pleader.

4. There is no direction in the order of this Court dated 5.12.2014 regarding payment of interest and if the petitioners claim interest on the revised amount of compensation, they have to workout the same independently. In the circumstances, it cannot be said that respondents have committed contempt of Court. Accordingly, the contempt case is closed. No costs. Having regard to the same, miscellaneous petitions, if any pending, are closed.
