Heard learned counsel for petitioner, learned Standing Counsel for Central Government appearing for respondent No.1 and learned Government Pleader for Land Acquisition appearing for respondents 2 to 5.

Land to an extent of Ac.0.62 cents in R.S.No.36/1 and 2 of Machilipatnam Village, Krishna District, was acquired for widening of National Highway No.216. In the award passed by the competent authority, compensation determined was Rs.11,00,000/- per acre. According to petitioner, he is entitled to higher compensation than what was determined. Therefore, requesting to enhance the said compensation, petitioner made several representations, latest being 02.01.2018, to the District Collector, Krishna District, but no so far no decision is taken. Alleging inaction, this Writ Petition is filed.

When the matter is taken up for consideration, learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Standing Counsel for National Highways and learned Government Pleader for Land Acquisition agree for disposal of the Writ Petition with a direction to the District Collector to consider the representation filed by the petitioner dated 02.01.2018 and to pass orders within four weeks. 4.

Having regard to the same, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the District Collector, Krishna District, Machilipatnam, to consider the issue of enhancement of compensation as

ventilated in his representation dated 02.01.2018 and pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order. Pending Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
