HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE C. PRAVEEN KUMAR WRIT PETITION No.40990 OF 2016 ORDER:

This Writ Petition, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is filed by the petitioner seeking to declare the inaction of respondents 3 to 5 in trying to change his name in revenue records in respect of the land admeasuring Ac.0.34 1⁄2 cts in D.No.142 situated at Mangalagiri, Guntur District, without notice to the petitioner, as illegal and arbitrary.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Revenue for respondents. With their consent, the writ petition is disposed of at the stage of admission itself.

The grievance of the petitioner in this writ petition is that though his name is appearing in the revenue records, the respondents are intending to change the name of the petitioner in the revenue records without issuing any notice to him. Learned AGP would submit that any change in revenue records would only be after putting the petitioner on notice, if his name exists in revenue records.

Having regard to the rival submissions made, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondents to give prior notice to the petitioner in case they intend to change the name of the petitioner in revenue records, if it exists in the revenue records. Miscellaneous petitions pending in this writ petition, if any, shall stand closed. No order as to costs.
